Opening day arrived in Las Vegas today as Circa Resort & Casino transformed the world’s largest sportsbook into a hub for baseball devotees, while also honoring the Athletics’ future in Southern Nevada. Pitching legend Dave Stewart headlined the festivities, and was joined by Marc Badain, A’s president; Amelia Schimmel, A’s public address announcer; and Derek Stevens, Circa CEO, where fans gathered in downtown Las Vegas for the resort’s fourth annual “Take Me Out to Vegas” event.
Stewart threw a ceremonial first pitch inside the sportsbook as baseball fanatics watched the first slate of games on Circa’s massive 78-million-pixel screen. The moment commemorated the growing connection between the A’s and Las Vegas ahead of the team’s anticipated arrival in 2028.
Stevens said, “Opening day brings people together to celebrate baseball, and that energy is especially strong as the A’s prepare to arrive in Las Vegas. Baseball is stepping into a new era here and that was felt throughout the property today.”
As part of the partnership with the A’s, Circa announced a season-long giveaway tied to every A’s home win. Beginning with the team’s first home game on April 3, one fan will win an exclusive Circa getaway each time the A’s win at home. The prize package includes:
- A two-night midweek stay at Circa
- Limo transportation to and from the airport
- Lunch inside the world’s largest sportsbook
- Experience at Circa’s 60th floor rooftop lounge, Legacy Club

At Take Me Out to Vegas, Circa transformed into a home base for baseball followers by hosting an all-American themed experience. Festivities included limited-edition A’s giveaways, coney dogs from American Coney Island, complimentary slices of apple pie and stadium-style beer service from roaming hawkers. In honor of the occasion, moms enjoyed complimentary drinks throughout the day.
Additionally, the Baller Dream Foundation hosted a raffle throughout the event, with tickets available for $50 each or three for $100. Prizes included an A’s jersey, a jersey from baseball legend Greg Maddux and a midweek daybed at Stadium Swim for use during a future A’s game. Maddux will return to Circa for the fourth annual Baller Dream Foundation Celebrity Poker Tournament, April 25-26, bringing together sports and philanthropy for a weekend-long event supporting the nonprofit’s mission of assisting young warriors affected by cancer and their families. The two-day event will include a VIP gala game-show dinner, silent auction, paddle raise and celebrity poker tournament.
