The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club throws open its gates for the 2026 Summer Racing Season on Friday, July 17, launching the seaside track’s spectacular 89th year of world-class Thoroughbred racing. Running through Monday, September 7 (Labor Day), this summer promises pulse-pounding action, unforgettable entertainment, and next-level hospitality that will make every visit to Del Mar an absolute must-do experience for fans across Southern California.
Racing will take place on Fridays through Sundays during Opening Weekend, then Thursdays through Sundays for the remainder of the meet, with a special Labor Day program on Monday, September 7. First post is scheduled for 2 p.m. daily until September 5, when it shifts to 1:30 p.m. Notably, Friday post times have been adjusted to 2 p.m. this season for added convenience.
Gates will open at 11:30 a.m. on Opening Day and 12 p.m. thereafter, with early 11:30 a.m. openings on September 5–7. Fans can purchase tickets now for Opening Weekend and the full summer season at DMTC.com.
This year’s season will feature 37 stakes races, offering competitive fields and high-stakes excitement throughout the summer.

- The Handle Bar — a brand-new 1930s-inspired speakeasy on the Fourth Floor in the Stretch Run section, featuring handcrafted cocktails in an intimate setting.
