Finney’s Crafthouse didn’t take long to find its place in Downtown Summerlin. Located just steps from Las Vegas Ballpark and a short walk from Red Rock Casino, the Southern California favorite is in a location that makes it an easy stop for both locals and visitors. After spending some time there, it’s easy to see why Finney’s could quickly become one of those neighborhood spots people come back to.

Finney’s is a place to visit for plenty of reasons, from its made-from-scratch menu and impressive happy hour to being a great spot to catch a game, but for me, the beer program is one of the biggest draws. With 30 rotating craft beers on tap, Finney’s puts a strong focus on local breweries, and what makes it even more interesting is that the selection reflects the community where each location is found. In Las Vegas, that means plenty of Nevada and Southern California beers can find their way onto the taps, while other Finney’s locations feature beers from breweries closer to home. The lineup is constantly changing, so there is always something new to try, whether you’re looking for a crisp lager, a West Coast IPA, a hazy or a seasonal brew. It’s a great way for Finney’s to support local breweries while giving beer drinkers another reason to keep coming back.

The Finney’s menu is filled with familiar items, but take a closer look and you’ll find they put their own twist on many classics, giving you the chance to create a dining experience that is all your own. The sandwiches and burgers are front and center, and they are all big enough that you are never going to leave Finney’s hungry. The burger lineup is lengthy, with choices such as a bison burger with smoked gouda, an A5 Wagyu burger and the over-the-top Jalapeño Egg Burger that will wake up your taste buds with crispy jalapeños and chipotle aioli, all topped off with a perfectly cooked egg. Some other great selections include the blackened ahi, smoked tri-tip and pastrami Reuben. You can add plenty of sides to go along with your burger or sandwich, but the tater tots, pita and hummus and tasty fried pickles would have to top that list. If somehow none of those are to your liking, the flatbread pizzas should appease any pizza lover, and Gary’s Pepperoni is so loaded with pepperoni that you will have a hard time taking a bite without getting some in every mouthful. If you’re looking for something a little healthier, there is also a great selection of salads and protein bowls featuring grilled salmon and ahi poke.

Happy hour at Finney’s lives up to the name, and there are few places anywhere that can match the deals being served up and poured. Getting back to the beer, you can get any of the 30 craft beers on tap for only $6, and that is pretty much unheard of. If you think that is a deal, the cocktail list is just as affordable and impressive, with a wide variety of cocktails ranging from $7-$9, including Ham’s Old Fashioned. Finney’s doesn’t skimp on food ever, and happy hour is no different. The absolute must is the perfectly prepared spicy tuna crispy rice, which is as good as anything you would find at a Japanese restaurant. Some of the other highlights include chicken and waffles, a Bavarian pretzel and carnitas nachos. If you are ever looking for a place to be between 3-5 p.m., Finney’s is the place to be.

Just a few weeks in, Finney’s has already given Summerlin a taste of what Southern California has known for years. It really doesn’t matter what brings you through the doors, whether it’s the beer, food, happy hour, a game or simply a place to enjoy a good meal, Finney’s gives you plenty of reasons to come back. And there is more Finney’s coming to Nevada, with a Town Square location in Las Vegas expected to open later this year, giving visitors and locals another opportunity to experience what Finney’s is all about. Great beer, good food, friendly service and a beautiful setting all come together to make Finney’s a place that was clearly created with the customer in mind, and after my visit, it’s easy to see why the concept continues to grow.
