Seal Beach may be a small coastal town, but when it comes to Happy Hour, it offers something for everyone. Whether you’re craving a craft beer, tropical cocktail, wood-fired pizza, or simply a relaxing place to catch up with friends, these are six of my favorite spots to unwind after a long day. #6 The Hangout Restaurant & Beach Bar
Best for: Great food, beach views, weekend brunch, and summer concerts
One of my favorite reasons to visit The Hangout isn’t necessarily Happy Hour—it’s Sunday morning breakfast with a mimosa in hand. There is just something about sitting outside, enjoying breakfast, and watching people stroll toward the beach that starts the day off right.
During the summer, The Hangout becomes even more fun. Every Wednesday evening, live bands perform on the Seal Beach Pier directly across the street. Grab a table outside, order your favorite drink, and enjoy dinner and a show while listening to the music drift across the beach.

#5 O’Malley’s on Main
Best for: Irish pub atmosphere and a perfectly poured Guinness
Walking into O’Malley’s feels like stepping into a traditional Irish pub. Warm wood, friendly conversation, live sports, and plenty of laughter create exactly the atmosphere you’d expect.
One thing I especially appreciate is that they know how to pour a proper Guinness. Believe it or not, Guinness isn’t simply poured into a glass. It requires a two-step pour that allows the nitrogen bubbles to settle before topping it off, and it’s traditionally served in the proper Guinness pint glass. Beer lovers know those little details make all the difference. Another hidden gem is the back patio. It’s a wonderful place to enjoy a pint while taking in the cool ocean breeze just steps from Main Street.

#4 320 Main
Best for: Craft cocktails and elevated dining
I’ll be honest—I haven’t experienced Happy Hour at 320 Main yet. However, its reputation speaks for itself. If you’re looking for a great cocktail, owners, Jason and Rebecca Schiffer don’t disappoint. They’ve taken many of the classics we all know and love, added their own creative twist, and created a cocktail menu that’s both approachable and memorable. Whether you’re a fan of timeless favorites or enjoy trying something new, there’s a good chance you’ll find your next favorite drink here. Ask almost anyone in Seal Beach where to find one of the best handcrafted cocktails, and 320 Main is likely to come up.
Known for creative mixology and an upscale yet approachable atmosphere, it’s high on my list for my next Happy Hour visit.

#3 The Abbey
Best for: Great food and a local gathering spot
The Abbey may be one of the cozier restaurants on Main Street, but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for with exceptional service. Their wood-fired ovens turn out some of my favorite pizzas in Seal Beach, making Happy Hour the perfect excuse to stop by after work.
Pair one of their rotating craft beers with a fresh wood-fired pizza or one of their shareable appetizers, and you’ll quickly understand why so many locals keep coming back. It always feels warm, welcoming, and full of familiar faces.

#2 Marni’s
Best for: Sports fans, casual gatherings, and neighborhood charm
Marni’s has become one of those neighborhood places where locals naturally gather. It’s relaxed, welcoming, and never pretentious.
What I enjoy most is that although it offers outdoor seating, the large open windows throughout the restaurant make almost every table feel like you’re dining outside. Add a pool table, multiple TVs showing the day’s games, and a friendly neighborhood atmosphere, and it’s easy to spend an afternoon here with friends. Even better, if you’re not quite ready to call it a day after Happy Hour, stick around for the live bands that perform on select evenings. It’s the perfect way to transition from a casual afternoon into a fun night out without ever leaving your seat.

#1 The Beach House @ Seal Beach
Best for: Hawaiian vibes, oceanfront sunsets, and tropical cocktails
If I had to describe The Beach House in one word, it would be Hawaii. Everything about this place reminds me of the islands. From the oceanfront setting and swaying palm trees to the tropical cocktails and live music, the entire atmosphere captures that relaxed island spirit. If you can’t be in Hawaii, this is the next best thing.
Happy Hour here is more than discounted drinks—it’s an experience. Grab a tropical cocktail, an ice-cold craft beer, or a glass of wine, order a few appetizers, and settle in for one of Seal Beach’s most beautiful sunsets. Between the ocean breeze, the sound of live music, and the laid-back atmosphere, it’s easy to lose track of time.
Before you leave, be sure to order the Fish & Chips. They rival some of the best fish fries you’ll find in coastal towns, with perfectly crispy fish that’s light, flaky, and cooked just right. But the real star is the house-made tartar sauce. Its subtle hint of fresh dill adds just enough flavor to elevate the entire dish.
And if you’re looking for something a little different, ask for The Rise and Shine. Start with a shot of Jameson Irish Whiskey and butterscotch schnapps, follow it with a shot of orange juice, then finish with a shot of crispy bacon bits. It sounds unusual, but trust me—the combination tastes remarkably like a warm maple waffle or pancake breakfast. It’s one of those unexpected treats that makes The Beach House a place you’ll want to visit again and again.
